Ingredients

cups moong dhal
Water
for pressure cooking

tbsp oil
2
tsps cumin seeds / jeera
1
medium sized onion fine chopped

green chillies slit
2
medium sized tomatoes fine chopped
A
handful curry leaves
A
pinch of turmeric
2
tbsps kitchen king masala
1
tbsp red chilli powder
Rock
salt to taste
Method
- Pressure the dhal in enough water and set aside.
- In a frying pan, heat oil, add jeera and allow to crackle.
- Add onions and green chillies and fry till the onions turn golden brown.
- Toss in the tomatoes and allow to cook well.
- Add turmeric, red chilli powder and kitchen king masala and mix well.
- Stir again so that the powders mix well with the onion and tomatoes.
- Now add the dhal and rock salt.
- Adjust water if required and bring to a boil.
Serve
tasty Dhal Tamatar with rotis or parathas of your choice.
